Winkeyer Speed Control

Unread post by dje4816 »

RumLogger doesn't control the speed of my Winkeyer correctly. It's OK for my normal speed range around 25 wpm, but if I want to slow down for slow operator, it doesn't drop below about 22 wpm, even though I set the preferences for lower speed. Any suggestions, please?

Which Winkeyer and which WK chip version do you use?
Can you post a screen shot of your settings please?

When you use the CW menu and the speed pot are both minimum 22wpm?

Tom,

Thanks for your reply. I have to apologise for wasting your time - I found that by setting the Farnsworth speed equal to the minimum speed, everything worked correctly.

However, I do still have a Winkey problem. I can't install the WK test program on my Mac as it only works on an MS PC. But my PC doesn't recognise the Winkey, even when I change the comm port correctly. Is there a way to access the Winkeyer directly from the Mac?

Dave,

Dave Fleming, W4SMT, wrote WKTest, a Winkeyer USB test bed app for the Mac. I don't know where it is posted, but an email to him might reveal a download link.

Charles,

Many thanks for the info. I've found W4SMT on qrz.com and now have his email address. I'll be emailing him after this. Thanks again for the help.
