I would like to use the cat with my ft891 just for controling the set with cw tools, is this possible.
Is it already doen?

RUMlog supports the FT-891 for simple CAT control, not for CW keying. You should consider to use a Winkeyer.

Yes perhaps that is a good idea, I'm doing more and more contests now.
