First getting started with RL.

Unread post by K5RJL »

No experience yet, but wish to use RL for my FT8 Logging program. When I start RL first time, it helped create a file I called FT8Log.rlog. Starting RL, this file seems to appear on the display in the form of a blue and white box that has several sections. I then made 3 WSJTX QSOs logged within WSJTX, hoping to see these populate the window for FT8Log.rlog. However nothing happens, and nothing is visable in FT8Log.rlog. Can anyone suggest what I have failed to do so far? Something for me to read? I have studied some of the help file, but can't get off the ground. Thanks for your consideration. 73, Ron K5RJL

I'm still trying to get going with RumLogNG. I have filled in quite a bit on the Preferences - General tab, and also filled these items in in my FT8Log.rlog file created when starting RumLogNG. However, when I make good FT8 contacts with WSJT-X, nothing appears in my FT8Log.rlog log. It seems likely that I have not linked WSJT-X correctly to Rumlog, and am uncertain how to create the required linkage. My reporting tab on WSJT-X has the UDP server set to 127.0.0.1 with port number 2237. Can anyone help get me started? Thanks!
