I am a new Fldigi user, and have a problem with CAT control by RumlogNG, and passing TRX data to Fldigi. If I configure the two programs so that RL is controlling CAT and sending data to Fldigi, it all works, but Fldigi crashes randomly. Sometimes it locks up and requires a force-quit, but most times it just crashes. Timing seems random - sometimes it will run fine for 30 minutes or more, through several QSO’s. Other times it will crash at random after only a few minutes.
On the other hand, if I configure Fldigi to control CAT, and send its data to RL, it all works great. I operated all day today with no crashes in this configuration.
My configuration:
Mac OSX 11.4 on a 2016 Macbook pro, 3.3 Ghz i7, 16GB memory
Rig: TS-590
Using RUMlogNG with USB interface for audio, CAT control and PTT.
Fldigi is 4.1.19. RumlogNG is 5.6.2
Also running CubicSDR as a panadapter using the TS-590’s serial port for CAT control
I am just wondering if anyone has similar experience. The solution I have found using Fldigi for CAT control is OK, but I would prefer to keep RL in control of the TRX through CAT, just so I don’t need to have Fldigi running when not using digital modes.
Thanks,
Mike

CAT Control Conflict with Fldigi
Re: CAT Control Conflict with Fldigi
Unfortunately a lot of users made this experience. We could need someone with a connection to the fldigi developer team.If I configure the two programs so that RL is controlling CAT and sending data to Fldigi, it all works, but Fldigi crashes randomly.

Thanks, Tom. That's good to know that at least I'm not the only one who has had this problem. Has anyone posted it on the linuxham list?
