WSJT-X multicast/broadcast and duplicate logs

Unread post by MM6MRQ »

Hello everyone,

I'm a new user of RUMlogNG and I've encountered something odd that I'm hoping someone can help me with.

I'm primarily using the application to log QSOs from WSJT-X and I'd also like to use JT-Bridge.

I've found that in order to have all three applications talking to each other I need WSJT-X to use a broadcast or mulitcast address - in unicast mode starting JT-Bridge breaks the connection to RUMlogNG, and vice versa.

The problem I'm seeing now is that when I click to log a QSO from WSJT-X I get two identical ones reported and logged by RUMlogNG.

Has anyone else encountered this or have any suggestions that might fix it?

Thanks in advance,

Mike

After a while this stopped happening, and it's been fine since.

Finding rumlogng really useful - thanks for your work on it.

You can get multiple logged contacts, when you have multiple network connections. I.e. LAN and WLAN active.

This helped me with my setup using GridTracker and HamClock. HamClock is running on a Raspberry Pi and I needed to use the broadcast address to get the data up there. I figured I'd send a reply to add these search terms ;-)

Thanks & 73,
