I cannot keep CAT control working for any more than 10 seconds using a Keyspan USA-19HS to my Kenwood TS-570s.
Running OS-X 10.11.4 and have loaded the latest drivers from the Keyspan web site. My iMac was rebooted after the driver installation.
The Keyspan unit works fine with FLdigi and WSJT-X.
Any thoughts?

The TS-570s is set for 9600-8-N-1
I have tried unchecking RTS/CTS and it did not help.
Also went back to a Prolific Technology USB to serial interface, same symptoms. The PL2303 device also works fine with FLdigi and WSJT-X.

In which color is the "Mode" and "kHz" label written?

When I open RumlogNG, the Mode and Khz are green, the CTRL is turned "ON" on the TS-570 and the frequency in the logging window matches the transceiver.. After 10 seconds, the CTRL on the transceiver goes off. This is with RTS/CTS turned on.
If I turn off RTS/CTS, restart RumlogNG, the Mode and Khz are green, the CTRL turns on for 10 seconds and the frequency in the logging window does NOT match the transceiver even though the "Real Time" and "Follow TRX" are both checked.
With RTS/CTS turned ON, If I click on Menu > Transceiver > Reset CAT #1, the Khz and Mode turn red.
TX 2 on the preferences window is not configured although I did try setting up my Kenwood TS-570s in TX 2 but had the same results.

Tom remotely connected to my TS-570s and confirmed that the connection to the radio is functioning as intended.
It appears that the CTRL light is activated when RUMlogNG is started but goes off after 10 seconds. According to Tom, RUMlogNG polls the radio at startup but does not poll the radio on a regular interval. When the radio changes frequency, mode etc., it sends the information to RUMlogNG even though the CTRL light is OFF on the rig. I am assuming that the TS-570s turns off the CTRL light when it has not had a poll for 10 seconds. This is what was throwing me off thinking that RUMlogNG was no longer communicating with the rig. This symptom is not evident when using WSJT-X or FLdigi and CAT control. The CTRL light stays lit all the time because both programs are polling the radio on regular intervals. In fact, there is a setting in WSJT-X for polling intervals as well as in FLdigi.
So, if anyone out there is using a Kenwood TS-570s, do not be concerned when the CTRL light on the rig goes off. If you change frequency and have "Follow TRX" checked, the correct frequency and mode will be sent to the logging window of RUMlogNG. Of course, CAT control will not work with two programs trying to access the radio at the same time.
Not sure how the other Kenwood rigs handle this.
