RUMLogNG integration w/FLDIGI

Unread post by ea5xq »

Hi,

I have been testing the integration with FLDIGI and got few troubles (attached print screen configuration TRX1):

1.- When FLDIGI is open, I can not change the frequency from RM using DX Spot window. It is like FLDIGI is controlling the CAT even if I check the box "Use CAT" in TRX1.
2.- If I check "Use CAT" and "Send data to FLDIGI", if I double click in DX Spot Window, the frequency in Main Log Window is not the spot but the FLDIGI frequency (I am sorry but it seems that I only can upload one file per discussion). The frequency that I double click in RM is not sent to FLDIGI even if I check "Send Data to FLDIGI"
3.- If I close FLDIGI and reset #CAT1, everything comes to the normal behaviour (RM controls the RIG) only if I uncheck "Send data to FLDIGI", otherwise it still does not control de RIG.

Any idea?

Do you have disabled CAT in Fldigi?
Do you have enabled xml-rpc control in Fldigi?

I have not enabled xml-rpc but hamlib (attached configuration). I am going to test it. Should I only unmark HAMLIB and mark xml-rpc? without any additional information about serial ports? or do they come from RM?

I need to see where to disable CAT in FLDIGI....

Cool, worked it out!

I removed the HamLib check and mark the xml-rpc and check "Send data to FLDIGI". Reinitialize #CAT1 and now RM is the one that controls fldigi....

Good job!

Thanks, 73 Juan, EA5XQ

Well, not so good.

RM controls FLDIGI if I change the freq based on DX Spot window but now FlDIGI can not transmit (it does not control the RIG....).

I gather then that only one can control CAT on the rig ... isn't it?

Thanks

Once again: Only one application can control your radio! When you have to connected it to RUMlog, RUMlog has to switch the PTT for Fldigi. See this option in the TRX settings.

Yes I know, only one can control the CAT

I am sorry, I forgot to check the part of the manual for

"For PTT from Fldigi use"

-->If RUMlog has CAT control, Fldigi can command RUMlog to switch the PTT. Enter xml rpc control address and port in the Fldigi section!<--

Now works fine, thanks and my apologies for not paying attention to this sentence in the manual.

Regarding the same topic,

With RUMLog you were able to upload manually (or automatically) the QSOs saved in Fldigi into RM. However, with RMNG there is not that option. Should I use the export/import adif?

Is there any additional option to update RMNG log with QSOs worked in FlDigi?

Thanks

You can use ADIF, but you have to avoid importing QSOs you habe already in the logbook.
A more elegant solution is to log a QSO in RUMlogNG directly from Fldigi using a script and a macro, see here: http://nf4l.com/ngconfig/

Thanks

Definitely, it is much more elegant than ADIF export/import.

I've tested and works great.

Thanks
