RUMlogNG Experiences/TS590s

Unread post by nn5ee »

Tom;
Just wanted to pass along some observations and congratulate you on your new app. I started using RUMlog classic last year because I use WSJT-X extensively and I could add qso's to RUMlog much more easily than I could to MacLoggerDX. I have rig control working for my TS590S direct or thru fldigi.

I do use hamQTH for contact info and currently get a popup : Error parsing hamQTH.com, Session does not exist or expired. qrz.com will show me two map points. I don't see an obvious way to update the contact data as I could do in RUMlog classic. Am I missing something?

Also is there a way to display time in 24hr mode?

HamQTH changed the output a little bit, which broke my code. The corrected version is awaiting the review by Apple, then you can download it in the Mac App Store.

The Maps will work with the App Store version as well. This is an Apple restriction.

To see a 24h clock change the setting in: System Preferences-->Languages & Regions-->Time format: Check the 24-Hour Time box. This works here (Yosemite) on the fly.

Nice to hear, the TS-590 working, do you have it connected direct using USB?

Yes, I am using USB interface. I read elsewhere you can use both interfaces with new 590 2.0 firmware. Haven't tried that yet. Had code break many times in my day using vendor output to draft code by. Been there.

I assumed fldigi log entries would be caught and included in RUMlogNB similar to classic digi file read mode. Do I still have to import the log?

thanks

Currently there is no direct Fldigi import routine provided. But each logged contact, can be logged in RUMlogNG as well using a Fldigi macro. See the RUMlogNG help text FAQ section for more.

Yes, a 24 hour format such as RUMlog had/has would be nice. I use the 12 hour format in other areas of the computer and don't really want to change over the entire computer via system preferences.
