Help with Basic Icom 7300 setup.

I am curious if someone can help provide some basic setup info for RUMlogNG and the Icom 7300?
I have never connected my computer to a radio and am not familiar with the myriad of options and settings. Does anyone have a basic overview of default settings in RUMlogNG and on the radio that will get me started? As this point I would be happy if I can just get the software to copy the frequency from the radio for QSOs. So far I have only established the USB connection.
