My thoughts about RUMlogNG.

Hello all,

Yesterday I bought a Mac Mini APPLE i5 1.4GHz 4-500. As far I can remember it is my first Mac computer, at same time it is the smallest computer that I have got :) .

First of all my congratulations to Tom, RUMlogNG is a very good software. To me, it is much better than MacLoggerDX and it is for free, what is always welcome here :) ;) .

The contest module is very good and has a lot of contests. At same time is very easy to use and gives a lot of information. However, there is a small problem. Because I have a KX3 and a K3 I do not need a winkey, so I do CW using the interface from radios, that's nice. When software is calling CQ test, and if I am not surfing on the internet, the Auto CQ option works well (I set 5 seconds interval). Time to time, when I am doing some activity in other desktop, it seems that RUMlogNG hangs a bit and then it delays 2 or more seconds a cq test and the next cq test takes less than 5 seconds. It seems it is more or less like this:

1.cq test (it delays a bit) 7 seconds 2.cq test 2 or 3 seconds 3.cq test

If I am doing more activity on the internet or opening files it seems that it delays a bit more. I have a winkey and did some tests and it had more or less same behaviour or seemed a bit less. I am not certain if it is a software or hardware issue.

Concerning to the log itself it is very good and has a lot of nice features. But I have a request (my second one ;) ):

because my log is at HamQTH.com, and at Clublog as well, is it possible to add option Real Time Synchronization to HamQTH.com ?

With such option it eases my operation and I will not need to do it manually.

In overall I am very happy with RUMlogNG and, again, my best congratulations to Tom.

Best 73 and have a nice weekend.

When you use this software frequently, you should consider to use the "Donate" button in the About box, write a review here: http://www.eham.net/reviews/detail/12189 or just rate it in the Mac App Store here: https://itunes.apple.com/app/rumlogng/id964454561?mt=12

Nobody wants to work for absolutely nothing.

Do you have the CW issue when RUMlog is in the background only? Then this could explain your problem: https://support.apple.com/kb/PH22013?vi ... cale=de_DE

A lot of services want to have our logs, I can't count all of them. Clublog is the most advanced service, with a real increase of value. Other services (excl. LoTW and eQSL) will not be supported in the next future!

Hi Tom,

tks for you answer.

You are right, I rated RUMlogNG on Mac App Store and later on will be on eham, about a donation it has to be later on otherwise my wife will kill me :) ;) .

It seems to be related. Most of times it works well, less when delays occurred, it will be a question to avoid surfing on the internet during contests.

No way for HamQTH ? It is a pity, OK2CQR Petr is doing very well with CQRlog software. Please consider to keep HamQTH, it is a fine database.

Best 73 and good luck with RUMlogNG.
