RUMlogNG and K3NG Arduino keyer / can't get working < solved

Hello all,
I'm new to this forum and quite new to RUMLogNG (although I used RUMped for a while, too).
Thanks for adding me to the community.
After a unsuccessful search here in the forum and the RUMlogNG docs this is my question:
Before buying or building a winkeyer or a winkeyer compatible CW solution I am on the way to do a proof of concept using an Arduino UNO board and the K3NG Arduino keyer software.
I found that the K3NG keyer is supported in RUMLog settings. But it seems that my keyer does not follow all the functions of it. Examples:
- speed changes <+4 WPM>/<-4 WPM> are not recognized.
- changes in keying weight are only accepted sometimes
- the sidetone jumps from time to time
- The auto CQ feature leads to endless CQ without any pause
- ...
The CW window shows "Interface nicht verfügbar" (which means "interface not available") and a yellow "LED" on the right side.
It seems there is no 100% communication between the Mac and my Arduino.
Has anybody this combo working?
Which are the options and features I have to activate or deactivate before compiling the K3NG sketch?
I tried several but I don't want to explore all possible permutations. So any hints are welcome!
