I am trying to make the connection between your very nice RumTrol7K and my IC7000. Received error messages, all of them error message 1.

Is there somewhere I can find the cause of this error message ?

Hmm, it seems error code 1 is not documented. I have no idea, because this error code is provided by your operating system. When do you get this error? (Progran start, read trx, write trx ....) Do you have made all preference settings correct?

I received the error message when I try to "read all" from the transceiver.

I have not been successful at reading anything from the transceiver, and have not tried to write to it as I want a current backup of settings first.

The only positive indicator I have is that RumTrol indicates that the Com Port is open; I assume that means that Rumtrol has a successful connection.

I have tried setting RTS, then DTR, then both, but still no success.

I will work on it more today to see if I can get a working connection.

I worked with it and two other programs yesterday and after changing a few parms {but nothing that I had not tried before} it worked ! I was able to read my IC7000 with RUMtrol and two other programs. Of course RUMtrol is the easiest to work with so I was all smiles !!
