Hi all,
First of all, many many thanks for RUMLog :) It is a really nice interface (although I am not sure about the green, hi!) and I am enjoying using it. Also many thanks for making it free! I will be donating at some point.

I have an Elecraft K3 and I have set up with the Kenwood 570 without X on or DTR/RTS which should be correct. It does not seem to work too well. If I have the rig on, restart the Mac and open RUMLog, it starts off reading the rig but then forgets. It also seems to forget as soon as I click on a spot in the Bandmap. I also cannot seem to QSY using the cluster spots window).

It works OK using MacLogger and HRD running windows in Boot Camp.

I should also mention that the rig QSY's as it should from the bandmap so something works.

I hope you can help and thanks again.

Hi Ian,

I own a K3 now for a week and I can ensure you, here it works perfect. Your settings should be correct - no flow control, let all checkboxes unchecked. I guess your baud rate is set correct.
I found some smaller issues, because I haven't had a K3 handy before to test all functions. I will release a new RUMlog version very soon. One problem was, that one initialization command was not accepted, do to timing problems. As walk around you can try to set the "AUTOINF" menu (Tech mode) to "AUTO 1"
Please note, QSYing from a cluster spot works only, when you double click the frequency in the DX Spot window! All other clicks will set the logbook entries only.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for the fast reply :) I have set that and will test it. I am running Snow Leopard, could that be the problem? I installed RUMLog before I updated to Snow Leopard. Would it be worth a reinstall?

No, SL is no problem. There is no real RUMlog installation. No files will be written to your disk, except your settings.
You should make sure, you have the latest driver for your used USB-Serial Adapter installed.

Yep, latest driver installed. As I say, it is OK with other programs. I have changed the autoinf as you said and it seems better so possibly just the timing issue. I cannot get the radio to QSY from the DX Spots window though, no matter how many clicks ;) It sets the log up, sets up the band map and then I can double click on the bandmap to QSY the radio.

You have to double click on the frequency in the spot!
