I've just synced my logbook with LOTW (which I've done many times before) and now my logbook is empty, all entries are gone.

When I select "LOTW in"....I get 174 Red entries indicating not matching QSOs. However, I had > 700 QSOs in my log. When I log on to LOTW all the QSOs are there.

Any idea what happened here?

I don't know how it happened but when synching with LOTW RumlogNG received an error and created a duplicate "log" file in the applications folder with no entries. When I deleted the duplicate and opened the original file all the entries were there.
