I just wondered what the purpose of the "Start DXlab Commander Suite Server" item was?

I've currently got RUMlogNG making a serial CAT connection to my FT-857D and then WSJT-X is set to use the DXlab connection. I assumed I'd need to configure start server but even without it enabled it all seems to work.
