You can enable or disable the flow controls, it's up to you. But you have to match the settings in your trx! You can't have flow control and control lines for PTT or CW at the same time.
That't why we have a lot of options, you can set it up for your needs. There isn't the one correct setting.

I searched and read further on the topic in order to figure it out. it is clear now and I managed to match my rig settings and baud rates.
