What is it?
RUMped is a logging tool for short wave for the MAC under OSX. It is not designed for the daily QSOs. Currently RUMped supports a DX-pedition mode, some major contests and a general contest mode for unsupported contests.
Supported contests
•WWDX
•ARRL Field Day
•IARU World Championship
•Work All Germany
•WAEDC
•WPX
•ARRL DX Contest
Starting
Download the package and move the unzipped folder to your application folder, or wherever you want. Inside the folder is a documentation provided. Or you can read/download the doc file here.
Requirements
RUMped works with MySQL! You have to install it on your machine, or need access to a server anywhere in your local network or internet. Each logfile will generate a new database. Here you can download MySQL. Scoll down to the Mac section.
RUMped can use cocoaModem2.0 (Ver. 0.26 minimum) as modem for RTTY, BPSK and Hellschreiber.
Supported rigs
Since the program is made for myself it can support my equipment only, which I can test:
TRCVR: IC-706MKIIG (58h), IC-7400(66h), IC-7000(70h), TS-570, K2
CW: Winkey by K1EL (see www. k1el.com for further info) or K2 build in keyer
RTTY: Pakratt PK-232, SCS-PTC Plus, cocoaModem2.0
BPSK: cocoaModem2.0
Hellschreiber: cocoaModem2.0
The microHAM USB micro Keyer II is full supported for all operating modes. There is no need for further hardware.

CW type-ahead
Callsign type-ahead is pretty well an essential requirement in contest or DXpedition logging. It enables the operator to type in and/or correct the callsign as the CW exchange is being sent. So long as he gets the character typed in correctly before the CW sending catches up to that point, then it gets sent correctly.
RTTY Features
When using cocoaModem, RUMped act as a remote control
RUMped tries to detect a callsign. There are three ways:
• the call in the log
• the call is in the database
-
•" de " followed by the call
